Standards Master 2005 Updates

At FlexiSoft Solutions we are absolutely committed to creating quality software. Your continuing feedback helps us improve Standards Master 2005. Thanks to your comments, we have clarified documentation, added new features and tweaked existing ones to make the product more useful. We've even fixed all reported defects along the way.

  • Improved performance of Automatic update functionality.
  • Added additional file format checks at startup of editor and addin to ensure correction of Naming Convention Rules in the event there is a corruption.
Version 2.0.0.9 - 6/3/2006
  • Added AutoCorrect for Web Controls dropped on designers. Control IDs are named as Protected (WithEvents) variables.
  • Added /MANIFEST switch to the Command Line utility, which allows a list of files to check to be specified for the utility. See help for more information.
  • Removed trial nag for Command Line Utility functions.

  • Changed scoping logic to ensure that variables declared in a VB module are scoped correctly as class members.

Version 2.0.0.8 - 5/20/2006
  • Added parsing of implicit variable declarations in ASPX, MASTER, and ASCX documents. Standards Master 2005 creates Protected WithEvents Class members for all tags and imported tag namespaces if there is a code behind.
  • Changed select files dialog to be sure ASPX pages do not show for parsing unless there is a code behind.
  • Minor changes to the Fix logic for misnamed identifiers. The default scope of the Find/Replace dialog has been made more inclusive.

  • Changed parsing logic to allow for delegate declarations outside of a class, namespace, module or structure.
  • Fixed bug causing string literal and numeric literal errors to be reported incorrectly in certain circumstances.

  • Changed enum member logic to derive its base type from the type of the parent.
  • Enhanced naming convention checks by allowing Enum Members to have their own scope.
  • Fixed bug causing error checking code for enum members in certain circumstances.

  • Added ability to view standards as a report in HTML. This option is available from the Standards Master options dialog.
  • Changes to SMDiag.exe.
  • Fixed bug causing unsupported files to appear in the Select File list.
  • Extended fix from previous release causing items with multiple attribute lists to parse incorrectly.
  • Added code to ensure that System types are loaded for reference even when the assembly being checked does not have an explicit reference to System.dll.
  • Added custom icon to status toolbar window that appears when it is docked.

  • Changed default order for identifying usage prefixes for types that are structures or enums. Now simple types that are actually structures and have usage settings in the editor (like Decimal or Date) will use the type defined rather the the default for structures or enums.

  • Fixed bug causing some code construction errors to be reported on commented out code.
  • Fixed bug causing incorrect line numbers to be reported for errors in C# code in some cases.
Version 2.0.0.2 (BETA 3) - 3/26/2006
  • Changed Copyright information throughout application.
  • Added support for generic types in Editor and Addin. Only base generics are supported: that is, the generic type itself may be treated as a type, not a strong type based on a generic. For example, Standards Master lets you define Usage Settings for System.Collections.Generic.List, but not for System.Collections.Generic.List(Of Int32).
  • Added code to clear the Master File settings during conversion from SM 2004 file to prevent overwriting changes.
  • Added ability to cancel a build in progress if the build fails or times out before completing. This applies only to builds initiated by Standards Master.
  • Fixed bug causing Subs with Handles clauses that are incorrectly named to be reported as errors even when the "Ignore Naming Convention Errors for Subs with Handles Clause" is on.
  • Fixed bug causing Variables to be considered arrays incorrectly in certain circumstances.
  • Fixed bug causing AutoCorrect to fail when fixing class member variables.
  • Minor changes to help, including addition of "What's New" page.
  • Changed Accessibility Modifiers in standards file to allow more flexibilty with WithEvents variables.
  • Minor changes to the Default Microsoft Standards File.
Version 2.0.0.1 (BETA 2) - 3/19/2006
  • Fixed parsing problem with VB Set statements without parentheses.
  • Fixed parsing problem with scoped Get and Set statements.
  • Fixed minor scoping problems.
  • Numeric literal errors now appear when literals are in parentheses.
  • Changed auto update code to handle new servers.
